The people who have passed away and had Lung Failure were using illegal, non-smoke store, or non-dispensary products from the black market. The people who make these will put cheap oils in them that are not safe to be sold in a vape shop or dispensary. My mom has been using THC Cartridges, and smokes cigarettes and I notice that when she uses the THC, her lungs start to open more and she stops coughing and wheezing vs after she smokes, she coughs, wheezes, and sometimes will get sick. These people who are researching this epidemic are failing to realize that young people are not just walking into smoke stores and buying them, they are getting them by illegal marketers and sellers. what a joke

Real Vape only contains Vegetable Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Flavor and Nicotine IN THAT ORDER. Whatever these TEENS were getting was made in China or by a BackYard Chemist that didn’t use proper ingredients. This all started when the Chinese had a huge problem with Fentanyl use. This seems a little suspicious that we were completely off of ciggarettes when the bans occured…. Made it through that with overstock supplies and my own mixtures. Then Covid -19 hit and closed many stores down again. But guess what…. Back on Vape and not having any problems… SO what was the problem with that 17% of people that only used vape devices you ask? BLACK MARKET CHINESE PRODUCTS. I can’t stand that people are so easily tricked by Cigarette manufacturers and their tactics to shut down an industry that was doing legitimate business by flashing the teen market with "Bad" vape. Buy from companies in the US that are well knowns and you won’t have a problem with the Vape juice.

  19. Lithium on October 12, 2021 at 8:27 am

It’s more complicated than you think. Diseases starts from juices on counterfeit pod cartridges and all that black market stuff going on. Your best choice if you’re currently vaping is to ONLY buy juices and cartridges from reputable sellers and not on some shady people selling it on much lower prices elsewhere

Find those EVALI survivors and test all of them for antibodies of covid-19. I’m sure the result would be 100% positive, but this could damage USA reputation and lead to more questions for public. Antibody test just came out and it said 2.7 millions New Yorkers have had the virus in the past. Just do the math, vaping outbreak, aggressive flu season and millions have had the virus.

News media featured hospitalized lung vaping illness patients in narratives including the following:
Dehydration from nausea, multifocal pneumonia, sepsis, acute respiratory failure with hypoxemia, and blood clots, necessitating a medically induced coma and removal of fluid from the lungs.[101]
Vomiting, coughing up blood, and lipoid pneumonia[102]
Nausea, chest pains, and shortness of breath, and acute respiratory distress syndrome necessitating extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)[103]
Shoulder and back pain, double lung collapse[104]
Vomiting, fever, sweating, painful coughing, bronchitis, double pneumonia in a patient who had vaped THC[52]
Vomiting up food, oil and water in the lungs, requiring supplemental oxygen for daily activities[105]
Severe pain in the side, lung collapse, "black spots" on the lungs in a patient using about half a Juul mint pod a day for about 18 months.[106]
Chest and back pain from recurrent pneumothoraces (air in the chest outside the lungs)[107]
Trouble breathing, necessitating a ventilator and medically induced coma.[108] The 18-year-old patient says she bought vaping products from a smoke shop that did not ask for her ID card, enabling her to lie that she was 22.[109]
Dizziness, vomiting, abdominal pain, difficulty breating, necessitating supplemental oxygen.[110] [111]
Breathing problems mistaken for the flu or stomach virus, eventually requiring ECMO[112]
Difficulty breathing, requiring supplemental oxygen and steroids,[113] diagnosed as popcorn lung.[114]
Dizziness and vomiting, problems breathing diagnosed as pneumonitis[115]
Patient discovered unresponsive in bedroom, mucus and blood coming from lungs, cardiac arrest[116]
Double lung transplant for a 17-year-old from Michigan on October 15, 2019,[117] believed to be the first such procedure due to vaping[118]
Is it vaping or have we been mis informed!?!

This is a US-only phenomenon, despite vaping being popular worldwide. There are no such cases here in Australia. Definitely covid19.

  36. Michael Lopez on October 12, 2021 at 8:51 am

This vaping disease is exactly like the coronavirus. Could it be that these were misdiagnosed Covid 19 cases? Something strange hit the US in October-November 2019 and my mom died from a really strange pneumonia that caused sepsis. I remember in the weeks after her death, I was hearing about people dying all over the country from what was called a severe flu and almost all died the same way.

  37. Dimitri on October 12, 2021 at 8:52 am

Showing numbers from 2007 and up do not say much when not taking into account: How many HS students picked up combustible cigarettes versus the amount who took up vaping. Same with the amount of adults. What does this even mean? Adults who never smoked but are curious now, or 2 pack a day smokers who finally found a way to cope with their irrefutable killer habit?

The convenient ‘list’ of contents in e-liquid does not take into account how these substances are handled in vaping devices. Nothing is heated up beyond the point of chemical combustion (mods without regulated protection do not count; warranty void when peeling that layer). Most of the hazards of mentioned substances only pop up when NOT handled with care (and common sense, yes cotton is going to set your house ablaze when heated up to and beyond the safety limit), and when illegal components considered as NOT safe are used the resulting product, it will be prone to cause serious issues including death (as so clearly emphasized in the update video).

Me, a 1+ pack a day smoker for 33 years, would advise anyone who considers to quit smoking to not overlook this option. Inform yourself, take a close look at the versus risks and do your thing. If you are a youngster who wonders why your (grand)parents were so obsessed with inhaling toxic smoke from a deliberate combustion process.. Just do NOT try the combustion way!

This is where it gets soggy; If you have been smoking like a chimney and know it is so bad for your health, and realize the only thing you know you will miss is nicotine.. GO VAPE!

..If you’re a youngster reading up on this sh*t, think twice. Even when not vaping an addictive substance like nicotine, we actually don’t know what long term inhalation of substances not native to the human body invokes. Just be careful and sensible, and above all that: do your homework! 2019 vids might well NOT contain information 2020 provides, but also 2019 videos might contain VITAL information not longer showed. I probably smoked too long (33 years) and just over a year of vaping, but I recognize the importance of flavor and not feeling close to die after climbing more than one flight of stairs.

I started out with tobacco imitating flavors and did not like it one bit. A friend of mine left a few drops of Watermelon taste in my very first Rebuildable Drip Atomizer, and I thought this taste could be improved by adding flavours matching this fruity base flavor…

Just check your resources with a website like

Springer is a publication board for scientific papers, not funded by corporate media, but the necessity of sharing vital information with any human interested and fellow peers in particular.

Don’t be an idiot, if and when you’re not addicted, don’t go down that rabbit hole.. If you are addicted and want to break from it, DO research.. 2 cents isn’t enough to educate truth..

Vitamin E forms Epoxide bonds when vaporized and reacting with oxygen to form crosslinked tar.
Basically it turns into plastic and coats your lungs in a film of plastic tar and well you know the rest of this story!

Been vaping since 2009. No deaths or cases about it until THC entered the the picture. It’s not rocket science as to who the culprit is.

  48. 何昊旻 on October 12, 2021 at 9:07 am

Don’t say it is coronavirus, it can not be called coronavirus at that time , it is E-cigarette Lung Failure before oct 2019.and it is flu before march 2020, only after that it is coronavirus. there is triplet pneumonia virus names, and Trump sure corona virus is from China. And because they invented this in some sort of lab.

What about DABs in the ecig? There is a lot more that people vape than nicotine and THC.
These studies seem to be widely broad…

So there’s no P values, no discussion of smoking history, no data establishing causation or even correlation, eh? That’s classic Big Tobacco Propaganda. Just for anyone reading this comment, vape aerosol contains less harmful substances than polluted air you breathe.
